Sam Crowe wins 2025 LeRoy Apker Award

UVa Astronomy/Physics major Sam Crowe (’25) has won the 2025 LeRoy Apker Award for undergraduate research. This is the highest honor available to a US undergraduate in physics. The award cited Sam's "groundbreaking undergraduate research achievements that uncovered a new stellar nursery, magnetically aligned ionized hydrogen filaments, and key evidence reshaping understanding of magnetic fields and protostellar outflows in massive star formation.”
